Emerald Fog: a dark green flow gradient that fades like forest mist
Emerald Fog is the quiet, dark one. The Flow type carries emerald, pale mint and deep forest green across a base that is almost black, and Soft at 70 blurs them until they look like mist hanging between trees. A Vignette of 40 closes in the edges and nothing moves, so dark dashboards, finance and sustainability pages get depth from it without any glare.
Make it yours
Lift the fog for more color
Intensity sits at the default 60. Raise it to 80 and the mint highlights come forward; lower it to 40 for a nearly monochrome green-black that stays out of the way of charts and tables.
Open the corners
If your layout puts navigation or logos in the corners, the Vignette of 40 will bury them. Bring Vignette down to 15 so those areas keep some green instead of falling to black.
FAQ
What makes a good gradient background for a dark mode interface?
Low brightness overall, one color family and no sharp shapes behind text. Emerald Fog keeps to greens on a near-black base, with Soft at 70 and only 14 Grain, so light text holds its contrast across the whole frame. Check it in the Product preview before you apply it to a real screen.
How it works
Pick a starting point
Start from one of 28 looks such as Soft Mesh, Eclipse Rays or Riso Halftone, or choose a gradient type and one of 24 palettes.
Tune the gradient
Adjust scale, distortion, swirl and softness, add grain, glass panes or glass tiles, a dot, grid or line overlay, a second blended layer or a treatment such as halftone or pixel sort, and switch animation on with its own speed.
Preview and use it
See the gradient in landing page, card, mobile and sign up layouts, then sign in with a free UX Pilot account to use it on the canvas or export it.
