Silk Aurora: animated aurora ribbons in aqua and periwinkle on night navy
Ribbons of aqua, periwinkle and emerald green drift across a near-black navy base in Silk Aurora. It uses the aurora gradient type with the Nordic Night palette, Animate switched on and Speed at 35, so the bands sway slowly instead of racing. Grain drops to 10 to keep the ribbons silky, and a Vignette of 35 lets the edges fall into darkness the way a night sky does.
Make it yours
Slow the drift for reading
Speed is 35, which is calm but noticeable. Behind body copy, drop Speed toward 15, or turn Animate off and keep the frozen frame as a still for the Open Graph preview.
Widen or tighten the ribbons
For thin, sharp streaks that feel more like a light show than a sky, take Soft from 40 down to 20. Going the other way, toward 65, fattens each ribbon into a wide wash of light.
FAQ
Will an animated aurora background distract from my content?
Not at these settings. The motion is a slow sway at Speed 35 and the palette stays dark, so light text holds its contrast. Keep the brightest ribbons away from your headline, check the Landing page and Mobile previews, and plan a still version for visitors who prefer reduced motion.
How it works
Pick a starting point
Start from one of 28 looks such as Soft Mesh, Eclipse Rays or Riso Halftone, or choose a gradient type and one of 24 palettes.
Tune the gradient
Adjust scale, distortion, swirl and softness, add grain, glass panes or glass tiles, a dot, grid or line overlay, a second blended layer or a treatment such as halftone or pixel sort, and switch animation on with its own speed.
Preview and use it
See the gradient in landing page, card, mobile and sign up layouts, then sign in with a free UX Pilot account to use it on the canvas or export it.
