Pixel art generator: pixelate images and turn photos into pixel art
Pixel Art Lab pixelates an image into square blocks and redraws every block in a small palette, so a photo, a logo or a screenshot turns into pixel art in a few clicks. Set the Pixel size, choose a console palette (NES, PICO-8, Game Boy, C64 or CGA), a palette pixel artists share such as Sweetie 16, AAP-64 or Resurrect 64, 1-bit or your own hex colors, or let From image pick the picture's own colors, then add Bayer or Floyd-Steinberg dithering and a dark outline. Every change shows live in your browser, and the PNG keeps each pixel a hard-edged square.
How it works
Upload an image
Add a PNG, JPG or WebP up to 20 MB or start from a sample photo. A PNG with a transparent background keeps it, and you can crop to 1:1, 4:5, 3:2, 16:9 or 9:16.
Pick pixels and colors
Choose a Pixel size from 1 to 48 and a palette: From image with 2 to 32 colors, a console set such as NES, PICO-8 or Game Boy, an artist palette such as Sweetie 16, DawnBringer 16 or Resurrect 64, 1-bit, or Custom with hex colors you paste. Add dithering and an outline where the look needs them.
