Chrome Columns: a vertical column gradient in icy, metallic blues
Fourteen vertical columns, each fading from a Glacier blue into an ice-white base at a different height, give Chrome Columns its brushed-metal rhythm. The palette runs from powder blue to cornflower, and every column is shaded from one side to the other, which reads as a row of polished cylinders. Grain is only 8 and Soft is 30, so it stays crisp and bright for fintech, SaaS and hardware pages.

Set the column count
Around 6 Bands you get wide architectural pillars instead of the 14 slim columns here; at 24, the maximum, they turn into fine pinstripes that behave more like a texture than a layout element.
Go dark chrome
Switch Palette to Graphite and the same columns turn gunmetal. Set Text color to Light text afterwards, and consider raising Vignette from 20 to 35 to give the darker version more depth.
FAQ
How do I get a metallic look from a gradient?
Metal reads as repeated light-to-dark ramps with sharp transitions. Chrome Columns does this with the columns type: 14 narrow ramps in cool blues, low Soft for crisp edges and almost no grain. Warmer metals work too: try the Rose Gold palette on the same settings.
How it works
Pick a starting point
Start from one of 28 looks such as Soft Mesh, Eclipse Rays or Riso Halftone, or choose a gradient type and one of 24 palettes.
Tune the gradient
Adjust scale, distortion, swirl and softness, add grain, glass panes or glass tiles, a dot, grid or line overlay, a second blended layer or a treatment such as halftone or pixel sort, and switch animation on with its own speed.
Preview and use it
See the gradient in landing page, card, mobile and sign up layouts, then sign in with a free UX Pilot account to use it on the canvas or export it.
