Polar folds: rows of icy light waves across a deep navy background
Polar folds trades a central subject for pattern: the Folds geometry lays several parallel waves of light across the whole canvas. Each wave is striped in aqua, frost white and cobalt, and with Soft focus at 18 and Light bloom at 30 the lines stay crisp and cold against the navy. The pattern suits dashboards, developer tools and data products that want texture across a full section rather than a single glowing object.
Make it yours
Turn the waves into neon
Light bloom at 30 keeps the folds clean. Raise it to 70 and each line picks up a soft halo, which makes the pattern feel like glowing tubes on a dark screen rather than printed stripes.
Let them drift
Press Play with Motion behavior on Organic and the waves slide sideways across the frame. Movement speed 12 is slow and hypnotic; push it toward 30 for a livelier loading screen or hero.
FAQ
Can I make the folds vertical?
Yes. Direction rotates the whole pattern, so setting it to 90 turns the horizontal waves into vertical columns of light. Values in between give diagonal folds, and Organic distortion, 12 here, decides how irregular each wave becomes.
How it works
Choose a light study
Start from one of 17 looks such as Spectral eclipse, Electric portal or Aurora curtain, or pick one of 8 starting geometries.
Refine the light
Adjust shape opening, light falloff, soft focus, light bloom, tonal contrast, exposure, diffusion and organic distortion, then drag the artwork to place its subject.
Color and use it
Set the background, first, second and light colors, press Play if you want movement, then sign in with a free UX Pilot account to use it on the canvas or export it.
