Spectral eclipse: an abstract light background with a half-lit disc
Spectral eclipse is where Chromatic Light Lab begins: the Eclipse geometry draws a disc whose upper half melts into the near-black background while its lower half glows in stacked bands of electric blue, icy white and coral. A thin rim of Light color traces the dark top, and Soft focus at 32 with Light bloom at 52 keep every edge luminous without going hazy. It works as a hero background for launches and AI products that want one calm, spectral focal point with room for a headline around it.
Make it yours
Lift the bands into the shadow
Depth / light falloff sits at 52 here. Raise it toward 90 and the blue and coral bands climb higher into the dark cap; drop it toward 10 and more of the disc sinks into shadow while only the base keeps its coral glow.
Make the disc breathe
Press Play and set Motion behavior to Breathe: the tool pulses Shape opening, so the disc gently swells and settles. Keep Movement speed near its 12 for a calm loop that never pulls attention from the copy.
FAQ
Why is the top of the eclipse dark?
The Eclipse geometry colors the disc from top to bottom. Its upper part takes the Background color, so it reads as a shadowed cap, and the tones then run through First color, Light color and Second color toward the base. The rim along the top edge is tinted by Light color, which is why it glows icy blue here.
How it works
Choose a light study
Start from one of 17 looks such as Spectral eclipse, Electric portal or Aurora curtain, or pick one of 8 starting geometries.
Refine the light
Adjust shape opening, light falloff, soft focus, light bloom, tonal contrast, exposure, diffusion and organic distortion, then drag the artwork to place its subject.
Color and use it
Set the background, first, second and light colors, press Play if you want movement, then sign in with a free UX Pilot account to use it on the canvas or export it.
