Opal orbit: milky loops of pastel light on slate navy
Opal orbit is the softer twin of Orbit of light: the same crossing loops, turned 25 degrees the other way and filled with an ivory Light color, blush pink and powder blue. Depth / light falloff at 80 makes the bands thick and milky, and the smaller Shape opening of 48 tightens the loops around their dark center. On a slate navy background it glows like an opal, gentle enough for finance, health or productivity apps.
Make it yours
Bring out the opal colors
Tonal contrast at 65 lets the ivory dominate. Raise it toward 90 and more of the blush Second color and powder blue First color show through the milky white, like the play of color in a real opal.
Draw finer loops
Depth / light falloff 80 gives thick, pillowy bands. Lower it to 30 and the loops become fine rings of light, closer to a technical diagram than a gemstone.
FAQ
How do pastel light backgrounds stay readable?
Keep the Background darker than the light. Here slate navy #181d31 sits under ivory, blush and powder blue, so white text on the dark area stays legible. On a pale Background, switch to dark text and lower Light bloom to protect contrast.
How it works
Choose a light study
Start from one of 17 looks such as Spectral eclipse, Electric portal or Aurora curtain, or pick one of 8 starting geometries.
Refine the light
Adjust shape opening, light falloff, soft focus, light bloom, tonal contrast, exposure, diffusion and organic distortion, then drag the artwork to place its subject.
Color and use it
