Petal lens: a fine-line SVG shape of overlapping plum ellipses
Petal lens rotates 18 long ellipses around one shared center and draws them as fine 1.2-weight outlines in deep plum on pale lilac. Where the ovals cross they build a dense woven ring, while the outer tips fan out like petals. The result sits between a spirograph drawing and a botanical emblem, and it is at its best large, where the thin lines have room: a cover, a hero area, the lid of a box.
Make it yours
Slim the petals into needles
Curvature sets how fat each ellipse is, and 66 gives generous ovals. Around 15 the petals thin into needles and the figure turns into a sharp star with a small ring at its heart; near 100 they swell toward circles and the rosette gets rounder and busier.
Slide the eye off-center
Open space of 16 keeps the ellipses almost concentric. At 45 their centers spread onto a wider circle, the eye of the rosette slides to one side and the figure becomes a lopsided swirl, handy when the shape should lean toward a headline.
FAQ
Will the fine lines of Petal lens hold up at small sizes?
At a Weight of 1.2 the crossings can blur together once the shape is shrunk to icon size. For small placements raise Weight to 2 or 3 and lower Element count from 18 to about 8, so fewer, heavier ellipses stay distinct. For large covers and hero areas the preset values work as they are.
