Silver flow: a liquid metal knot in cool silver with three slow bands
Silver flow is the look Liquid Metal Lab opens with: a 3D knot wrapped in cool silver, with 3 broad reflection bands drifting across it at Speed 24. Distortion sits at 36 and Softness at 45, so the stripes wobble like mercury but never break into noise. A pale lilac-grey Light color behind it and a slate blue Accent in the troughs keep everything neutral, which makes this the easiest preset to drop into an existing palette.
Make it yours
Brush the surface
Scratch density is 0 in this preset, so the silver is mirror clean. Raise it to around 30 to cut fine brushed grooves into the reflections, which reads as machined aluminium instead of poured mercury.
Tint the chrome to your brand
Swap Ink from silver to a pale version of your brand color and pick a darker shade of the same hue for Accent. Leaving Light color near white preserves the studio-backdrop feel of the original.
FAQ
What settings make the default liquid metal look?
A knot at Size 100, tilted with Rotate X 20 and Rotate Y 25, with Bands 3, Distortion 36, Softness 45, Lighting 100 and Speed 24. The colors are a silver Ink, a slate blue Accent and a pale lilac-grey Light color. The other nine presets are variations on these values.
