Noir: a hard-edged chrome knot in lavender on near-black
Noir is the high-contrast one. Softness drops from 45 to 9, so each of the 4 bands ends in a crisp line instead of a gradient, and the knot looks like polished steel under a single hard light. The Light color is near-black, the Ink a pale lavender and the Accent a charcoal, which leaves the lavender stripes as the only bright thing on the page.
Make it yours
Calm the motion, keep the edge
With Softness at 9 the band edges can flicker as they travel. If the animation feels harsh, slow Speed from 24 toward 10 before you touch Softness, and the razor-edged look survives.
Push the highlights
Lighting is at its default of 100. Around 130 the lavender bands get noticeably brighter against the black backdrop with no change to Ink, handy when the knot sits under a dark overlay.
FAQ
Will Noir work behind text in a dark-mode hero?
Yes, with care. The near-black backdrop suits light text, but the lavender bands are bright and hard-edged, so keep headlines off the knot itself. The Split and Landing page previews show it next to copy; placing the form to one side is safer than centering text over it.
How it works
