Petrol silk: meandering mauve and teal chrome bands like marbled silk
Petrol silk keeps the default Cascade but raises Fold frequency to 5 and Surface tension to 88, so the bands narrow and meander in tight loops that look like contour lines on a map. Mauve #935774 rides the crests while petrol teal #197b8d pools in the hollows, and a large hairpin loop right of center gives the eye a place to land. Light direction turns to 230 and a sage light #d1e2d4 traces thin mint edges along each band.
Make it yours
Calm the marbling
Surface tension at 88 is the reason the bands wander so much. Bring it back to around 55 and the loops relax into longer, silkier waves that sit better behind a headline or a pricing table.
Try it as a slow loop
Motion behavior is Organic, so pressing Play lets the bands creep and flow. Set Movement speed below its 12, for example 6, for an ambient drift that never distracts from a hero section.
FAQ
What gives Petrol silk its layered, marbled look?
Surface tension at 88, combined with Fold frequency 5. Together they bend many thin folds into winding loops, and the mauve and petrol teal pair makes each layer stand apart from the next one.
How it works
Choose a surface
Start from one of 16 looks such as Copper current, Glacial chrome or Champagne foil, or pick one of 8 sculptures.
Direct the reflections
Adjust fold frequency, surface tension, fine ripples, polish, light direction, reflection contrast, color dispersion and sculptural depth, then drag the artwork to place it.
Color and use it
Set the background, first, second and light colors, press Play for a light sweep or a slow flow, then sign in with a free UX Pilot account to use it on the canvas or export it.
