Gel duo: a chrome dome between cyan and magenta gels
Gel duo lights a single round dome, the Vortex sculpture in the Object composition, with the Color gels rig: one gel box on each side and a small white light above. The dome is polished Mirror chrome, so it shows almost nothing of its own and simply reflects a cyan band on its left and a magenta band on its right against the near-black studio. It is the most graphic look in the set, a neon still life in two colors.
Make it yours
Pick your own gels
Second light is the left gel, #00D1FF, and Light color is the right one, #FF2E88. Try orange and teal for a film-poster palette, or two blues for a calmer tech look.
Spread the color wider
Polish 95 keeps the gel reflections crisp. Lower it to 60 and they bloom across the dome, mixing into purple where the two colors meet.
FAQ
What lights are in the Color gels rig of Gel duo?
Two tall colored boxes, one left and one right, plus a small white ping overhead. Second light colors the left box and Light color the right one, so swapping those two colors changes the whole mood of the shot.
