Coastal frequency: upright ripples in teal, sage and straw
Coastal frequency runs the Waves pattern sideways with a Direction of 90, so the bands ripple from top to bottom instead of across. A Pattern rhythm of 85 packs more crests into each band than Saffron waves, and Grid density 13 with Band weight 65 makes the stripes narrower, leaving clear strips of sand Background between them. Petrol teal, sage green and straw yellow, joined by an olive grey and a soft mauve mixed from the teal, give it the faded palette of a seaside poster.
Make it yours
Lay the waves flat again
Direction sets the angle of the whole pattern. Set it back to 0 for horizontal ripples, or try 45 for a diagonal flow that leads the eye across a wide banner.
Calm the frequency
At Pattern rhythm 85 the ripples are tight enough to shimmer on small screens. Drop it to 40 for broader, gentler curves, and raise Module spacing from 10 to 25 to widen the sand gaps for an airier stripe.
FAQ
Can I rotate a pattern to fit a tall or wide format?
Yes. Direction turns the whole pattern, from -180 to 180 degrees, around the point set by Position X and Position Y, so the same waves can run across a wide banner or up a tall story format. Coastal frequency uses 90 for vertical bands; drag the artwork to line a crest up with your layout.
How it works
Choose a graphic system
Start from one of 16 looks such as Golden hour, Poolside or Disco grid, or pick one of 9 patterns.
Set the rhythm
Tune grid density, band weight, module spacing, pattern rhythm, corner softness and ink strength, then drag the artwork to reposition it.
Color and use it
Set the background and three ink colors, press Play for a gentle movement, then sign in with a free UX Pilot account to use it on the canvas or export it.
