Midnight loom: a fine berry and teal weave on dark slate
Midnight loom is the night-time twin of Woven afternoon, built on the same Weave pattern but finer and more open. Grid density 11 fits many more cells, Band weight 60 slims every bar to a thin rounded line, and Module spacing at 22 shortens the bars so plenty of slate Background shows around each group of three. Berry, teal and apricot gold, with a salmon and a bright pink blended from the berry, keep the palette jewel-toned against the dark.
Make it yours
Use it behind a dark UI
For a website hero or app splash, lower Ink strength from 96 to around 55 so the bars sink into the slate and white text stays readable on top, then raise it again for a poster where the weave is the star.
Set the weave breathing
Press Play with Motion behavior on Breathe and the bars swell and shrink in turn, since Breathe gently varies Band weight and Module spacing. Keep Movement intensity low, around 30, for a background that moves without distracting.
FAQ
How do I keep a pattern readable behind text on a dark background?
Keep the pattern's contrast lower than the text's. Dim the inks with Ink strength, choose a Background close to the darkest ink, and leave clear space where the words go. Midnight loom is already restrained, thin bars on slate, so a small drop in ink strength is usually enough.
How it works
Choose a graphic system
Start from one of 16 looks such as Golden hour, Poolside or Disco grid, or pick one of 9 patterns.
Set the rhythm
Tune grid density, band weight, module spacing, pattern rhythm, corner softness and ink strength, then drag the artwork to reposition it.
Color and use it
Set the background and three ink colors, press Play for a gentle movement, then sign in with a free UX Pilot account to use it on the canvas or export it.
