Cocoa sunset: rows of small coral arches on deep cocoa
Cocoa sunset uses the Arches pattern like Golden hour but on a dark cocoa Background, and a Grid density of 10 fits rows of five smaller rainbows across the frame. Each arch runs from a dusty mauve outer band through coral and pink to a soft peach center, with the default Band weight of 78 leaving narrow dark gaps between the rings. The result is warmer and moodier than the cream arch looks, closer to a 1970s record sleeve than a nursery wall.
Make it yours
Make a light-mode version
To use the same arches on a pale page, set Background to a warm cream like #f0dfbd and darken the First color slightly, since the pink and peach rings are mixed from it and need contrast against a light ground.
Resize the rainbows
Subject scale at 100 shows rows of five arches. Push it to 140 for fewer, larger rainbows that read from across a room, or drop it to 60 for a fine, fabric-like repeat on a phone screen.
FAQ
Does a dark background work for a retro pattern?
Yes, and it often looks richer. Warm colors glow against deep browns and navies the way screen-printed inks do on dark fabric. Cocoa sunset relies on this: the coral and pink arches read brightly on cocoa, and the Film grain adds just enough texture to keep the dark areas from looking flat.
