Sun room: a 24-ray retro sunburst around a dark hub
Sun room is built on the Rays pattern, a sunburst that radiates from a single point. Grid density 12 gives 24 wedge rays, Band weight 78 leaves thin aubergine gaps between them, and a Pattern rhythm of 34 sets the size of the round dark hub at the center. Red-orange, ochre and butter yellow alternate with a pink and a peach mixed from them, and a Direction of -18 tilts the burst so no ray sits perfectly level.
Make it yours
Move the center of the burst
The rays spread from the point set by Position X and Position Y, both 50 here. Move Position X to 25 and the sun shifts left, leaving long rays sweeping across the right side where a headline or product can sit.
Change the ray count and hub
Grid density doubles into the number of rays, so 8 gives 16 broad wedges and 20 gives 40 fine spokes. Raise Pattern rhythm toward 100 and the dark hub grows into a disc wide enough to hold a logo.
FAQ
How do I make a sunburst background?
Pick the Rays pattern, as Sun room does, then set the number of rays with Grid density and the gap between them with Band weight. Choose a mix of light and dark inks so neighboring rays contrast, and place the center off to one side if the background has to hold text.
How it works
Choose a graphic system
Start from one of 16 looks such as Golden hour, Poolside or Disco grid, or pick one of 9 patterns.
Set the rhythm
Tune grid density, band weight, module spacing, pattern rhythm, corner softness and ink strength, then drag the artwork to reposition it.
Color and use it
Set the background and three ink colors, press Play for a gentle movement, then sign in with a free UX Pilot account to use it on the canvas or export it.
