Teal Bulletin: a condensed newsletter masthead over a spirograph flower
Teal Bulletin is the cover of a weekly city newsletter, set on deep teal. Bulletin 148 fills the top of the Cover layout in a condensed mint face, and below it a five-lobed spirograph flower of 50 mint hairlines opens across the sheet, with one amber strand marking its outer edge. A short summary, the issue date, the equation name and a barcode complete the masthead furniture.
Make it yours
Number every issue
Put the issue number in the Headline beside the title, as in Bulletin 148, and change it each week. The condensed masthead refits to the new width, and the barcode next to the Footer redraws itself, so each issue looks freshly printed.
Open or close the flower
Coupling sets how strongly the spirograph's second circle pulls the line in and out. At 45 the two circles are close to balanced, which opens the five broad lobes; drop it to 15 and the figure tightens into a rippled ring.
FAQ
How is a spirograph different from a rosette in this tool?
A rosette is one closed curve whose radius swells into petals. The spirograph adds a second circle turning against the first, with Symmetry and Resonance as their speeds, so the line loops over itself into the overlapping lobes of the drawing toy.
