Plum Noir Almanac: a serif magazine cover with a sixteen-petal rosette
Plum Noir Almanac borrows the format of a winter quarterly. The Cover layout runs Almanac in a high-contrast cream serif under a heavy rule, then raises a sixteen-petal rosette of 72 fine strands behind it, so the foot of the sheet slices the flower in half. A pale rose Accent traces the outermost strand, and the cover lines, formula and barcode sit around it like the furniture of a newsstand issue.
Make it yours
Set up the next issue
The Eyebrow prints top left as the issue line and the Footer carries volume, dates and page count. Edit both for each issue: the masthead and rosette stay put, and the barcode redraws itself from your text like a fresh ISBN.
Dense or open petals
Symmetry 16 packs the rosette with narrow petals. Halve it to 8 for broad leaf shapes that carry across a room, and raise Line width a step so the cream strands stay bright on the dark plum paper.
FAQ
Why does the barcode change when I edit the masthead?
The Cover layout builds its bar block and the thirteen-digit number under it from the Headline, the Eyebrow and the Symmetry and Resonance values. Every edition you set up gets its own believable code, the way each printed issue carries a new one.
How it works
