Signal: a dark oversized poster with a lissajous wave figure
Signal is built around its sample headline, "Everything is a wave." The oversized layout sets that line as large as the sheet allows, and behind it a lissajous curve weaves a lattice from a Symmetry of 5 against a Resonance of 8, the kind of figure an oscilloscope draws when two tones meet. Pale lime Ink and sage Accent glow against dark teal slate paper, so it reads like a record sleeve or a late-night radio flyer.
Make it yours
Retune the two frequencies
In a lissajous figure, Symmetry and Resonance act as the horizontal and vertical frequencies. The 5 and 8 here make a busy weave; try 3 and 4 for an open knot, or 1 and 2 for a single figure eight.
Shorten the headline for bigger type
The oversized layout scales the Headline to fit the sheet, so fewer characters means larger letters. Two or three punchy words will fill the width far more boldly than a full sentence.
FAQ
What is a lissajous curve?
It is the path traced when one oscillation drives the horizontal position and another drives the vertical. The ratio between the two decides the pattern: simple ratios give clean loops, close ratios give dense lattices. Here the ratio is 5 to 8, and Phase, left at 20, offsets the two so the weave does not look mechanically perfect.
