Monograph: an oversized essay cover with an eight-point star
Monograph is for a single subject treated seriously. The oversized layout gives "One idea, at length." the full width, and behind it a superformula with a Symmetry of 8 makes an eight-pointed star whose points are stretched long and narrow by a Coupling of 92. Aubergine Ink fades into muted teal Accent on warm off-white paper, a quieter, more literary pairing than the black and red of Manifesto.
Make it yours
Round the star into a cushion
Coupling at 92 is what makes the points so long. Around 40 they shorten and round off into a soft eight-lobed cushion, and the poster shifts from architectural to approachable without any change of color.
Pull the whole star onto the sheet
With points this long, a Shape scale of 96 lets the star reach past the large headline toward the edges of the poster. Reduce it toward 50 if you would like the complete figure visible with clear paper around it.
FAQ
What is the superformula?
It is a single polar equation that can describe circles, stars, rounded polygons and many shapes in between by changing a few numbers. In this tool, Symmetry sets the number of points and Coupling sets how pinched they are. Monograph uses 8 and 92, which sits at the spiky end of what the equation can do.
