Night frequencies: hairline moiré rings on midnight navy
Night frequencies is a dark, fine Moiré, with 82 rings per layer drawn at a Mark weight of only 25. One ring set moves from blue at its center through mauve to sand, the other is traced entirely in sand, and because Spatial depth at 85 places their centers far apart, a fine grid of crossings opens between them along a thin horizontal seam. On the midnight navy Background the lines stay faint, so the pattern shimmers rather than shouts.
Make it yours
Make it hold up behind text
Mark weight is 25, so the lines almost dissolve into the navy from a distance. That is right for a subtle backdrop behind copy; if the pattern needs to survive on a phone screen, raise it to about 45.
Bring the two centers together
Spatial depth at 85 spreads the two ring systems wide apart. Pull it down to around 30 and the grid of crossings gives way to a few broad, glowing fringes that drift slowly once you press Play.
FAQ
Why does the pattern seem to flicker on my screen?
Very fine lines at a high Pattern density sit close to the pixel grid of your display, so the screen itself adds another layer of interference. That is part of the charm, but if it distracts at small sizes, lower Pattern density to around 60 or enlarge the artwork with Subject scale.
How it works
Choose a visual system
Start from one of 16 looks such as Signal field, Interference study or Electric passage, or pick one of 8 pattern geometries.
Tune the illusion
Adjust pattern density, mark weight, spatial depth, wave distortion, pattern phase and color separation, then drag the artwork to position it.
Set it in motion
Press Play to move the marks as a flow, a breath or a counterflow, set the colors, then sign in with a free UX Pilot account to use it on the canvas or export it.
