Cobalt mesh: a dense halftone screen in cobalt blue and apricot
Cobalt mesh tightens the halftone grid to a Pattern density of 72, so the dots turn into a fine mesh that reads almost like woven cloth. A saturated cobalt band runs through the middle, shading through sea green into apricot at the upper corners, while pockets of midnight navy open wherever the dots shrink away. Wave distortion at 62 bends the rows into broad swells, which gives the screen its rolling, liquid feel.
Make it yours
Calm the swells
Wave distortion sets how far the dots are pushed off their straight rows. Bring it from 62 down to about 20 for an orderly screen with gentle curves, or leave it high when the mesh should ripple like a flag in the wind.
Swap the warm accent
Light color is the apricot #efbc86 that lights up the upper corners. Replace it with white for a cooler, cleaner mesh, or with your brand accent, and keep First color a deep, saturated blue so the center band still holds.
FAQ
Can I use Cobalt mesh as a website background?
Yes. The dense dots work well as a textured hero or section background, especially for tech, audio and data products. Place text over the darker navy pockets for contrast, and drag the artwork until one of them sits behind your headline.
How it works
Choose a visual system
Start from one of 16 looks such as Signal field, Interference study or Electric passage, or pick one of 8 pattern geometries.
Tune the illusion
Adjust pattern density, mark weight, spatial depth, wave distortion, pattern phase and color separation, then drag the artwork to position it.
Set it in motion
Press Play to move the marks as a flow, a breath or a counterflow, set the colors, then sign in with a free UX Pilot account to use it on the canvas or export it.
