Classic bricks: a studded brick mosaic from your own image
Classic bricks is the default look of Brick Image Lab: upload an image and it is rebuilt on a strict grid of studded bricks, the LEGO-style mosaic most people picture. Cell size is 24, Gap is 2 and Chaos is 0, so every brick lines up, while a Bevel of 4 and a Shadow of 38 lit from Light Angle 315 give the wall its relief. Not affiliated with the LEGO Group.
Make it yours
Pick brick size by subject
Cell size is 24. Portraits need detail, so go down to 14 or 16 until the eyes read; logos and icons can take 35 or more, where each brick becomes a bold block of color.
Limit the color steps
Posterize is at 16. Dropping it to 6 or 8 groups similar shades into the same brick color, so the wall looks like it was built from a small box of parts instead of a printed photo.
FAQ
What kind of image makes the best brick mosaic?
One with a clear subject, strong contrast and a simple background. Fine texture disappears once the picture is reduced to bricks, so faces, products, icons and bold illustrations work better than busy landscapes. Raising Contrast above the default 105 helps soft photos hold their shapes.
How it works
Upload an image
Add a PNG, JPG or WebP up to 20 MB. Portraits, logos and bold illustrations read well as bricks.
Set the bricks
Choose brick size, gap, corner radius and how scattered the layout is, and turn studs on or off with their own size.
Light, color and use it
Adjust bevel, light angle and shadow, limit the colors with posterize, tune saturation and contrast, then sign in with a free UX Pilot account to use it on the canvas or export it.
