Terminal: phosphor green ASCII art on a dark CRT-style screen
Terminal switches the tool to Ascii mode and redraws your image with the Standard character set, a ten-step ramp from a blank space through dots and plus signs up to the at sign. Characters are bright phosphor green on an almost black green, 10 pixels tall in Semibold. Scanlines at 25 and Bloom at 20 add the faint row lines and glow of an old monitor, so the picture looks typed out on a command line.
Make it yours
Trace the outlines
Shapes come only from brightness while Edge detail is 0. Raise it to around 50 and contours are drawn in with slashes, pipes and hyphens, which makes faces, logos and product silhouettes far easier to recognize.
Fit more detail in
For a denser grid that resolves small features, drop Character size from 10 to 6. If the image then looks stretched, adjust Character width, 60 by default, until circles look round again.
FAQ
Can I copy the Terminal ASCII art as plain text?
Yes. Besides PNG and SVG, the export formats include Text and Text HTML, so you can paste the characters into a README, a code comment or a web page. Plain text carries only the characters, so the scanlines and bloom appear in the image exports. Exporting needs a free UX Pilot account, while trying the preset on your own image is free in the browser.
