Molten Gold: a polished gold lion head glowing under one skylight
Molten Gold casts a lion head in polished gold and sets it on a warm, almost black ground (#0D0A06). Metal is a pale honey gold, #FFD27A, used as the reflectance of real gold, so the color deepens in the folds of the mane and turns nearly white where the single overhead skylight hits it. Liquid distortion at 16 lets the reflections slide like poured metal, and the Skylight rig adds two dark cards that keep the plinth and the lower curls in rich shadow.
Make it yours
Push it toward bronze
Move Metal from #FFD27A to a duller ochre such as #C9954A and lower Exposure to about 85. The same lion then reads as aged bronze rather than fresh gold, a better fit for heritage and museum brands.
Keep it molten, not melted
Liquid distortion sits at 16, enough to bend the skylight across the mane. If the curls start to look soft in a still frame, bring it down to 8 and let Flow speed carry the sense of liquid metal instead.
FAQ
How does Liquid Metal Lab make gold look like real gold?
The Metal color works as the metal's reflectance when you look at it head on, the way physically based renderers treat gold. At grazing angles the edges still swing toward white, so one warm hex gives you gold that shifts naturally from honey to bright highlight.
How it works
Choose a form
Pick one of 10 built-in shapes, try a sample model such as the Marble bust, Lion head or Conch shell, or import a GLB, OBJ or STL model up to 20 MB.
Light the studio
Choose a Lighting rig such as Studio softboxes, Strip lights, Color gels or Horizon '84, set the Floor to Contact shadow, Glossy floor or Floating, and pick the Backdrop, Metal and Gel light colors.
Finish and use it
Tune Roughness, Brushed finish, Iridescence, Liquid distortion and Flow speed, preview the result in landing, card and mobile layouts, then sign in with a free UX Pilot account to use it on the canvas or export it.
