Code sculpture: a 3D ASCII knot carved from lime green characters
Code sculpture switches the Effect to Ascii and flips the palette to lime green Ink on a near-black Light color. With the standard character ramp, the dark backdrop fills with dense @ signs and the brighter knot is typed in lighter marks such as dots and dashes, so the form looks carved out of a wall of code. Cell size rises to 10, large enough to read individual characters.
Make it yours
Write your own character ramp
Characters holds the ramp, from a space through dots and dashes up to # % @. Replace it with a short word or a few symbols from your product; the first character maps to the brightest areas, the last to the darkest.
Clear the background
To get glyphs on the form only, reverse the order in Characters so the space comes last; the dark backdrop then prints nothing. Terminal bloom is set up this way if you want to compare.
FAQ
Can I turn my own 3D model into ASCII art?
Yes. Set Shape to Custom and import a GLB, OBJ or STL file, and the ASCII effect is applied to your model as it rotates. You can also set Source to image and convert a flat picture. Exporting the result needs a free UX Pilot account.
How it works
Pick a source
Use one of 10 built-in 3D shapes, import a GLB, OBJ or STL model, or upload a PNG, JPG or WebP image.
Choose an effect
Switch between 9 effects and set cell size, contrast, brightness and, for ASCII, the characters used.
Color and use it
Keep the source colors or go duotone with your own palette, then sign in with a free UX Pilot account to use it on the canvas or export it.
