Khaki Utility: a stencil label sheet with one orange tab
Khaki Utility lays out a field of equipment labels on an eight-column grid: khaki and olive blocks carrying big stencil numerals, diagonally hatched panels, outlined cells with mono tape tags such as LOT 12 and KIT 09, and empty plates held by four rivets. The cell nearest the focal point is filled with the orange Signal color and tagged with a small arrow, the way a single warning tab stands out on a kit box. Paper material at a Material strength of 10 adds fibers and tooth, so the sheet reads as printed card stock.
Make it yours
Merge cells into longer plates
Tension decides how many columns a block may span. At 40 most cells cover one or two columns; raise Tension to 90 for long olive and khaki plates that stretch across half the sheet.
Make the rows taller
Rhythm sets row height relative to column width. Higher values give taller plates and bigger stencil numerals, since numerals only appear on blocks tall enough to hold them; lower values turn the sheet into thin tape strips.
FAQ
Can I change the orange tab's label in Khaki Utility?
The tab text is fixed, but Depth switches its symbol: at 50 or below it shows an arrow, and above 50 it becomes a triangle. To move the tab itself, shift Focal point X or Focal point Y, and the orange fill lands on whichever cell sits closest.
How it works
Pick a direction
Start from one of 20 looks such as Transformative Teal, Swiss Red, Bioluminescent or Riso Club, or choose a Family such as Echo rings, Particle coast or Ribbon stack.
Compose it
Choose a Balanced, Focal, Edge, Repeat or Interface composition, drag to move the focal point, and set Element count, Shape scale, Rotation, Rhythm, Tension and Depth.
Set the roles and use it
Color the Ground, Text ink, Brand, Brand 2 and Signal roles, pick a Material and its strength, preview it in product, landing, AI and mobile layouts, then sign in with a free UX Pilot account to use it on the canvas or export it.
