Opal arc: a wide, milky arc of ice light with very high glow
Opal arc shows how soft the ribbon field can get. Spread at 78 makes the band broad, Complexity at 2 removes nearly all of the inner striping, and Glow at 90 floods it with light, so the ice spectrum comes through as a milky, opalescent wash. The arch curve is rotated by an Angle of 170, which turns it almost upside down into a hanging arc over a slate navy backdrop.
Make it yours
Stand the arch back up
Angle at 170 flips the arch so it hangs like a necklace. Return it to 0-30 and it becomes a vault over your content again; the soft opal treatment stays exactly the same.
Add a little stone texture
Grain is left at the default 4, which is nearly invisible under this much light. Raise it to 10-12 to give the wash a mineral, frosted-glass surface and to disguise any banding in the wide, smooth blend.
FAQ
What makes this look opalescent instead of rainbow?
Low detail and high light. With Complexity at 2 there are almost no fine lines to separate colors, Spread at 78 lets neighboring tones overlap, and Glow at 90 lifts them toward white. The ice spectrum then blends into a pearly sheen instead of distinct stripes.
