Deep current: a dark diagonal light effect with an underwater mood
Deep current takes the ice spectrum somewhere dark. A diagonal field slants across a blue-black backdrop at an Angle of 120, Glow is held down at 40, and Grain climbs to 10 so the shadows feel like film instead of flat color. Complexity at 8 packs the band with thin lines, which reads as fast water seen from below.
Make it yours
Add more churn to the stream
The diagonal band undulates along its length, scaled by Curvature. It is only 24 here, so the current looks steady; take it to 60 or more for a rougher, stormier flow without touching the colors.
Recolor it with the saved ocean tones
An ocean-blue Ink and a pale aqua Accent are stored with this preset. Set Spectrum to Custom and the band becomes a strict two-color blend of them, handy when the ice spectrum brings in tones your palette does not have.
FAQ
How is Deep current different from Violet silk?
Both use the diagonal field, but they sit at opposite ends of it. Deep current is tight and textured: Spread 38, Complexity 8, Grain 10 and a cool ice spectrum. Violet silk is smoother, with Complexity 3, default grain and a custom violet-to-peach blend. Pick this one for drama, the other for softness.
