Terrazzo: stippled stone chips and mustard blobs on warm sand
Stipple at full Randomness throws uneven specks of burnt orange, deep teal and the tone between them across a warm sand ground, the way chips settle in poured terrazzo. Copies is set to 5, so one fully rounded, heavily distorted mustard blob is joined by four smaller ones dropped at random as the big stones. The finish is the Paper preset tinted brown, which dulls the flat color into something matte and mineral.
Make it yours
Change the chip size
A Shape scale of 34 is large for a stipple, which is why the specks look like stone chips and not dust. Take it down to 14 for fine granite, or lower Weight from 50 to 25 to slim every chip without moving it.
Scatter more big stones
Copies goes up to 7. Use all seven and cut Size from 0.46 to about 0.3 to spread smaller mustard stones over the slab, or set Fill to Gradient so each stone shades from mustard into burnt orange.
FAQ
How do I get a realistic terrazzo look?
Real terrazzo has chips of mixed size and no visible grid, so keep Randomness at 100 and Color Mode on Multiple colors. Stay with earthy chips on a light, slightly warm background and leave the Paper texture on: its brown tint dulls flat vector color into something closer to polished stone. Skip outlines and shadows, which make the chips look like stickers.
How it works
Build the pattern
Pick a motif and a square, brick or hex layout, then set scale, spacing, weight, rotation, two pattern colors and a background.
Add a shape and a texture
Place one of 8 shapes with a solid, outline or gradient fill, then layer one of 9 textures with a blend mode and opacity.
Frame and use it
Choose a ratio from 1:1 to 9:16, preview it in hero, card and mobile layouts, then sign in with a free UX Pilot account to use it on the canvas or export it.
