Halftone sun: a golden sunburst over fading amber halftone dots
The pattern layer is a Halftone screen motif in a single amber on pale cream, with dots that are largest at the pattern origin and shrink steadily toward the corners. On top sits a golden Burst with 14 rays, an Inner radius of 72 that keeps the rays short, and Distance at 0 so every ray is identical. A Halftone screen texture at 60 opacity then prints a darker dot gradient across the sun for a comic-book, screen-printed finish.
Make it yours
Sharpen or soften the rays
Inner radius at 72 gives stubby rays, like a cog or a bottle cap. Pull Inner radius down to 40 for long spikes, and raise Soft from 20 to 60 if you would rather have rounded, sunflower-like tips.
Aim the dots at the sun
The halftone dots grow from the middle of the frame. Set Pattern origin X to 0.74 and Pattern origin Y to 0.52 and the biggest dots move directly behind the burst, radiating out from it like heat.
FAQ
What is a halftone pattern?
Halftone is the print technique of faking tone with dots of different sizes on a fixed grid: big dots read as dark, small dots as light. This preset uses it twice. The motif makes an amber dot gradient across the background, and the texture adds a second, darker screen centered near the sun, which is why it looks like a two-pass screen print.
How it works
Build the pattern
Pick a motif and a square, brick or hex layout, then set scale, spacing, weight, rotation, two pattern colors and a background.
Add a shape and a texture
Place one of 8 shapes with a solid, outline or gradient fill, then layer one of 9 textures with a blend mode and opacity.
Frame and use it
Choose a ratio from 1:1 to 9:16, preview it in hero, card and mobile layouts, then sign in with a free UX Pilot account to use it on the canvas or export it.
